Revival and the Word, Nehemiah 8:1-18

A revived church is a Bible-shaped church; not simply owning bibles and believing they are true, but actually hearing, knowing, loving, and obeying God’s Word. Every genuine revival is rooted in the rediscovery of God’s Word—creating a renewed hunger for Scripture.

The biblical scholar and historian J. Edwin Orr defined revival as: “The Spirit of God, working through the Word of God, in the lives of the people of God.”

Revival happens when God’s people understand His Word, delight in His Word, and respond to His Word—we see this clearly in Nehemiah 8.
