Archippus: Fulfill the Ministry, Colossians 4:17

Colossians is a letter Paul wrote from prison to a small church in Colossae. He had never been there himself-- the church was founded by his co-worker Epaphras. As Paul closes the letter, he gives what is seemingly a throwaway line to a man named Archippus. we don't no much about him. In Philemon, Paul calls him fellow soldier and he may have been the son of Philemon maybe even serving as a pastor when Epaphras was away. Or he may have been a faithful servant of the church. Either way, Paul's words make it clear --- his role mattered . In this one verse Paul showed us three aspects of living out our calling in Christ: the reality of our calling, the responsibility of our calling, and the reinforcement of our calling.
