Uzzah and the Ark: 2 Samuel 6:1-11

Holiness is not simply God's attributes - it is the essence of who He is. He is utterly set apart, perfect in purity, and unmatched in glory. When we come to texts like this, we are reminded that God will not be approached on our our terms. He must be approached on His. The story of Uzzah and the Ark confronts us with the question: Are we taking God's holiness serious? Or have we become so with Him that His presence as common.
